I have to say that I never really had much of a skincare routine. I was always pretty low maintenance and grabbed whatever I found at the pharmacy for most of my 20s and 30s. Growing up, I had bad acne so most of the products I used when I was young were medicated. It was a terrible time in my life and really did a number on my self esteem. All this to say, once I hit my 40s I realized just how much I had neglected my skin and I wanted to make some changes and invest in a skincare routine. The fine lines started becoming deeper and the age spots and years of neglect started surfacing and suddenly the reflection in the mirror became unrecognizable to me. I fully understand there isn’t a product in the world that will reverse the aging process and I don’t buy into the hype and advertising, but there are a few things that I do that simply make me feel better and at the very least protect my skin from the elements and add some extra moisture.
Here’s my list of favourites and NO I’m not a money-making influencing product pusher paid to promote! Just a regular woman who has tried a bunch of things and is eager to share!
- (Morning and Night) Cleanser: L’Oreal Revitalift Gel Wash
- (Morning year-round) Sunscreen: Garnier Ombrelle Sunscreen Face Protection Ultra-Fluid (SPF 60)
- (Night) Retinol Serum: The Ordinary 1% Retinol Serum
- (Night) Moisturizer: Biossance Repair Cream
There you have it! No matter what your skincare routine looks like, remember, the most important product to apply on your face is SUNSCREEN, whether the sun is shining on you or not.
Enjoy!
